Personal Life

Andrè RavenSkül Venås

Born in Hollywood, Ca. in April of 1969.A child of the cornfields before the era of internet and Cel phones. I found myself moving from city to city and state to state, living in old schoolhouses, tents, and trailers with my family in the ‘Wild West’ from the shores of Bodega bay and SanDiego to the Valleys of Napa and Sonoma County, all the way to Spain and back into the hills of Tennessee! As a child of this amazing era of humble beginnings, my imagination took hold of my mind without fear and eventually made it onto paper, whether it be with oil paints, water colors or simply a pen.

Maybe it started in the cornfields or maybe it started floating with great whites on homemade boats of Styrofoam in the freezing waters of Nor Cal. I soon became an avid reader and history buff, sometimes running through a book a week. My wife, whom I have known for nearly 40 years embraces my many hats and many characters that appear at the oddest of times and supports the artist’ chaos. She is a yoga instructor and encourages balance in my life

My first book was ‘Book of Heathen’ a beginners guide to Norse Paganism and Survivalism.  My second project was ‘Black Flag’, this book is a compilation of World Conspiracies and False Flags from as far back as I could find, most of this is public knowledge as far as conspiracies go, maybe not.  The stories in this book do not necessarily reflect the beliefs of this author and is intended for entertainment purposes only and never forget to read between the lies…

My next book was a book that I had been wanting to write since I was in my 20’s, just never got around to really pushing myself, 20 years in the military kind of put my writing ideas to the side.  It is a Fantasy/horror about Norse Gods that figure out how to change themselves into werewolves and go on a historically epic battle against the Catholic Church. I am of Norse descent so you will see that I wrote a few books with that background.

My next book was ‘Book of Freyja’, dedicated specifically to the Goddess Freyja and then straight into ‘Tales from Asgard’, Tales from Asgard is a descriptive storybook retelling of the adventures and parables of the Norse Gods, spanning from the time of the great Ginnungagap to the final battle at Ragnarok.  It tells the tales of the greatest Gods and Giants, such as the deeds of Odin and Thor, and the misdeeds of Loki, tales of Freyja and Frey and the great shining one Baldr. Adapted from the stories passed down from the original tales of the Gods popularized by the historian Snorri Sturluson as well as several other historical writers, (I would love to get this put into a series on one of the popular streaming services at some point)

I then found myself in an interesting place in life when I decided that I needed to make some changes, physically, mentally, and spiritually, so I decided to write ‘Spirit Food’.

The true “Fountain of Youth” is the sustainment of the body and soul. In this book I discuss meditation and breathing; super foods; raw foods; vitamins and nutrients; fasting benefits; the effects of alcohol, and much more, as well as some healthy and amazing recipes. This is my journey as I moved towards retiring from the military and fixing myself so that I could transform back into civilian life, 20 years in the military was particularly hard on myself and my beautiful wife Kate.

I am in my 50’s now and just wanted to shed all of that and put it in my past. I am currently working on a book about the tales of Ragnar Lodbrok, historically accurate in story form, popular TV shows have inaccurately depicted some of these stories. I am also an artist and musician and will be dedicating my retirement to working on my art and to continue writing about whatever sparks my creativity. I currently reside in Knoxville, TN. with my wife Kate, my daughter Kaya and our three grandchildren Jet, Izzy, and Mose. My son Blake currently lives in Montana. We all enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and fishing.
